Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has lauded the progress of the “Make In India” initiative, emphasizing its tangible outcomes in bolstering India’s defense manufacturing capabilities. In a recent address, Yadav asserted that the resolution of “Make In India” is indeed taking shape, marking a significant milestone for the nation’s industrial landscape.
Under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yadav highlighted India’s remarkable strides in exporting defense equipment at an accelerated pace. He underscored the pivotal role played by the leadership of Prime Minister Modi in driving India’s defense manufacturing sector towards unprecedented growth.
Yadav revealed that India’s defense exports surged to Rs 21,083 crore in the financial year 2023-24, marking a substantial increase of 32.5% compared to the previous financial year. This surge in defense exports not only reflects India’s growing self-reliance in defense production but also signifies its emergence as a key player in the global defense market.
The Chief Minister hailed this historic achievement as a proud moment for every Indian, emphasizing the collective effort and determination that have propelled India’s defense manufacturing sector to new heights. He reiterated the significance of such milestones in advancing India’s status as a manufacturing hub and enhancing its strategic autonomy in defense production.
Yadav’s remarks come at a time when India is increasingly focusing on indigenous defense production to reduce dependency on imports and strengthen its defense capabilities. The “Make In India” initiative, launched in 2014, aims to transform India into a global manufacturing hub by promoting domestic manufacturing across various sectors, including defense.
