Manohar Lal: Enhancing Power Supply
The NFMS is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Power designed to provide detailed, real-time information on power supply, outages, and the health of approximately 2.5 lakh feeders across India. This system aims to improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability in power distribution, ultimately enhancing the quality and reliability of power supply for end consumers.
Dedicated Control Centre
REC’s Corporate Office in Gurugram has established a dedicated control centre. This centre will monitor data daily, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the NFMS portal and assisting Distribution Utilities (DISCOMS) in meeting their key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the Ministry.
Commitment to Progress
Union Minister Manohar Lal praised the inauguration as a significant step in leveraging technology to enhance power distribution. He emphasized the initiative’s role in improving grid efficiency and ensuring a more reliable power supply, aiming to illuminate every home and empower every citizen with progress and development.
