Banwari Lal Verma, commonly known as B.L. Verma, hails from Ujhani in the Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh. His father, Shri Panna Lal Verma, was a farmer. Verma currently serves as a Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha and holds positions in both the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
Political Journey and Contributions
B.L. Verma began his political career as a party worker in Badaun. He has been serving as the state vice president since 2018 and is a significant figure among the OBC Lodhi community in western Uttar Pradesh. He has also been the president of the Braj region and is known for his close association with former CM Kalyan Singh.
Roles and Achievements
In 2021, Verma assumed the role of Minister of State in the Development of the North East Region Ministry and the Ministry of Cooperation. Additionally, he holds the position of chairman of UP State Construction Development Corporation Limited, equating to the status of a Minister of State.
