MAS Is A New Initiative Launched By Giriraj Singh.

The Mission Antyodaya Survey (MAS), a new initiative launched by the Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Shri Giriraj Singh, has been created with the goal of eradicating poverty in India. The survey aims to bring about a convergence of various government schemes and to ensure the effective utilization of resources in rural areas through a focused micro plan for each marginalized household. The survey will be conducted annually at the Gram Panchayat level to monitor the progress in the development process and to create a Panchayat-wise ranking based on the data collected.

The Mission Antyodaya Survey has been launched with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Whole of Government Approach” philosophy. The survey is designed to provide a comprehensive picture of the development process in rural areas, with the objective of creating a gap report which will serve as an important input for the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).

The launch of the Mission Antyodaya Survey portal and mobile application was attended by several dignitaries, including Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State for Rural Development and Steel; Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Minister of State for Rural Development and Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution; and Shri Kapil Moreshwar Patil, Minister of State for Panchayati Raj. The event was also attended by ministers from various states and senior officers, who joined virtually.

In his speech, Shri Giriraj Singh expressed confidence that the Mission Antyodaya Survey will ultimately succeed in realizing the dream of a poverty-free India. He emphasized the importance of the survey in ensuring the effective utilization of resources and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for marginalized households.

The Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Shri Giriraj Singh, has announced that the Mission Antyodaya Survey 2022-23 will be conducted in all 2,69,253 Gram Panchayats and equivalent across the country. The survey is aimed at transforming the lives and livelihoods of people in rural areas by measuring the outcomes of various government schemes. However, the states of Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland are not included in the survey due to ongoing elections.

The survey questionnaire consists of 183 indicators and 216 data points, covering 21 different sectors. These sectors include areas such as agriculture and land development, rural housing, health, education, and poverty alleviation programs. The survey will provide a comprehensive picture of the progress of development in rural areas and will help to ensure that resources are being used effectively.

The Department of Rural Development has been conducting the Mission Antyodaya Survey since 2017-18, with the goal of improving the standard of living for people in rural areas. The survey has become an important tool in monitoring the progress of development and ensuring that government schemes are being implemented effectively.
