Probationers of the Military Engineer Services (MES) were honored to meet President Smt Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 3, 2023. During the meeting, the President commended the engineers and shed light on the expansive role of an engineer, extending beyond mere calculations, design, and construction.
In her address to the officers, President Smt Droupadi Murmu emphasized that an engineer’s role encompasses connecting communities, realizing dreams, and shaping the future. She urged the young officers to recognize their potential in creating robust and sustainable physical infrastructure.

She highlighted the importance of green engineering in current times and acknowledged MES’s efforts in reducing the national carbon footprint.

Furthermore, President Smt Droupadi Murmu emphasized the significance of adopting the latest technologies in the field of engineering. She advised the MES officers to stay at the forefront of dynamic developments and ensure that their work reflects the latest advancements.
The President also reminded the probationers of their privilege in serving a country that sets global benchmarks, underlining the commitment of MES to serve the nation and its armed forces.
