Vishnu Dayal Ram’s Distinguished Career
Vishnu Dayal, a former Director General of Police (DGP) in Jharkhand, served as a 1973 batch IPS officer. His tenure as DGP of Jharkhand Police spanned from 1 July 2005 to 27 September 2006 and from 4 August 2007 to 13 January 2010. Additionally, he held positions as SP of Bhagalpur and SSP of Patna.
Transition to Politics
After retiring from his illustrious police career, Vishnu Dayal Ram joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In 2014, he won the Lok Sabha election from Palamu constituency, marking the beginning of his political journey. His significant contributions have been recognized by his constituents and colleagues alike.
Political Milestone
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Vishnu Dayal Ram achieved a remarkable victory, securing his third consecutive win from the Palamu constituency. He defeated RJD’s Mamta Bhuinya by a record margin of 2,88,807 votes, underscoring his enduring popularity and dedication to serving his community.
