Innovative Solution for Insider Trading Detection Wins Top Student Prize
At the hackathon, students from Nanyang Technological University, Amity University, and Dwarkadas College of Engineering collaborated to create a tool designed to help regulators identify potential suspects involved in insider trading. Their innovative solution secured the top student prize and highlighted the immense talent and creativity present among the participating students.
Haqdarshak Clinches Top Startup Prize for Enabling Access to Government Welfare Services
The top winner in the startup category was Haqdarshak, a platform that empowered 2.8 million Indians to access approximately SGD 700 million in government welfare services. The recognition of Haqdarshak’s impactful contribution showcased the potential of startups in driving positive change and improving the lives of individuals in society.
Promoting Knowledge Exchange and Collaboration for Societal Challenges
During the event, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange and collaboration to tackle common societal challenges. The hackathon revolved around six problem statements, including financial fraud detection, financial inclusion, and credit offers, sea-level rise and coastal flooding, optimizing food recycling, monitoring carbon footprint, and boosting Singapore-India trade connectivity. It not only involved prestigious academic institutions like NTU Singapore and IIT Gandhinagar but also engaged leading corporates and the public sector from both nations to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs and build startups that tackle pressing global challenges.
The 3rd Edition of the Singapore-India Hackathon epitomized the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing between India and Singapore. It showcased the potential of youth and startups in finding solutions for global issues and further strengthened the bond between the two nations.
