Monsoon: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported the current northern limit of the Southwest Monsoon. It continues to pass through various coordinates and locations, including Veraval, Rajpipla, Ujjain, Vidisha, Siddhi, Chaibasa, Haldia, Pakur, Sahibganj, and Raxaul.
Favorable Conditions for Monsoon Advancement
Conditions are favorable for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon into additional parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat State, Madhya Pradesh, and remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand over the next three days.

A trough at mean sea level runs off the Maharashtra-Kerala coasts, accompanied by a cyclonic circulation over the northeast Arabian Sea off Gujarat-north Maharashtra coasts.

- Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, Gujarat State, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh over the next five days.
- Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Konkan & Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat Region on specified dates.
- Heavy Rainfall Warnings:
- Specific regions, including West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, & North Interior Karnataka, are likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall on particular dates.
Eastern and Northeastern India Weather

- Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura over the next five days.
- Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over specific areas in the region on specified dates, including the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall over Assam & Meghalaya on June 29, 2024.
Western and Northern India Weather
A cyclonic circulation over southeast Rajasthan will affect the following regions:
- Rainfall Predictions:
- Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Gangetic West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha over the next five days.
- Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, East and West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand on specified dates.
Heat Wave Warnings
The IMD has issued heat wave warnings for isolated pockets of Punjab and Bihar on June 25th and West Rajasthan during June 25th-27th, with conditions expected to abate thereafter.
