Monsoon Update: Northern Limit Extends, Widespread Rainfall Expected

Monsoon: The Northern Limit of the Southwest Monsoon now extends through several regions including Jaisalmer, Churu, Bhiwani, Delhi, Aligarh, Kanpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Kheri, Moradabad, Una, Pathankot, Jammu, and more. Conditions are expected to favor further advancement into additional parts of West Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu over the next two days.

Monsoon: Weather Systems Influencing Rainfall

A cyclonic circulation over south Gujarat and associated weather systems, including a shear zone and a trough, are influencing rainfall patterns. This setup is expected to bring widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning to regions like Kerala, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan & Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, and more.

  • Chhattisgarh: Heavy rainfall on June 29th and 30th.
  • Gujarat Region: Heavy rainfall on June 29th, 30th, July 2nd, and 3rd.
  • Coastal Karnataka: Heavy rainfall from June 29th to July 1st.
  • Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra: Very heavy rainfall over the next five days.
  • Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand: Heavy rainfall on June 29th and 30th.
