This marks the fourth time that Mr. Naidu has assumed the role of Chief Minister in his illustrious political career spanning over four decades. He previously served as Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh twice and now for the second time in Residual Andhra Pradesh.
The swearing-in ceremony witnessed the presence of several prominent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President J.P. Nadda. Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, former Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana, and actors Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi were also in attendance.
Additionally, Jana Sena Party (JSP) Chief Pawan Kalyan, along with 24 other MLAs from the TDP, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and JSP, took oath as Cabinet ministers of Andhra Pradesh. The TDP, JSP, and BJP, allies of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), contested the 2024 Assembly elections against the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). The NDA secured a significant victory, winning the majority of seats in the State Assembly.
Naidu’s return as Chief Minister signifies a new chapter in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape, with expectations high for continued development and progress under his leadership. With strong support from the NDA partners, the government aims to fulfill its promises and drive inclusive growth across the state.
