On the 13th of February On the 76th Independence Day, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful speech from the Red Fort, where he emphasized the importance of Nari Shakti (Women Power) in achieving the vision of ‘Amrit Kaal’. He acknowledged the significant contributions made by women in various fields and highlighted the need to further empower women and bring them to the forefront.
In line with the Prime Minister’s vision, the Indian Navy, in association with the Navy Wellness and Welfare Association (NWWA) and M/s Jeep India, has launched an all-women motor expedition as a tribute to the brave women of India and the Indian Navy. The 12-day rally, which will commence from the National War Memorial in New Delhi and end at the War Memorial in Longewala (Rajasthan), is expected to cover a distance of 2300 kilometers.
The all-women car rally, with the slogan “She’s Unstoppable” and tagline “Soar High,” aims to celebrate 75 years of independence, showcase the contributions of naval women officers, motivate women to join the Indian Navy, pay homage at the Longewala War Memorial, interact with naval veterans and Veer Naris en route, and conduct NWWA outreach as part of the NWWA Day Celebrations.
The rally will be flagged off virtually by Admiral R Hari Kumar, the Chief of the Naval Staff, and Mrs. Kala Hari Kumar, the President of NWWA. During the rally, the President of NWWA and her team will undertake outreach programs at schools for special children, old age homes, and orphanages. The women officers will also conduct motivational talks about the Agniveers and other schemes for joining the Navy at selected schools and colleges.
In addition to Jeep India, the all-women car rally has received support from EVO India, Femina, the Marriott Group, Apparel India, DLF Promenade, and Luxottica Group. The rally is expected to generate significant awareness about Nari Shakti and the opportunities available for women in the Indian Navy.
