In a significant development aimed at bolstering Bihar’s road infrastructure, the rehabilitation and upgradation project for the Sitamarhi-Jaynagar-Narhiya section of National Highway 104 (Lot-I) has received official approval. This crucial endeavor is being undertaken as part of the National Highway Interconnectivity Improvement Project (NHIIP), with the primary objective of enhancing the road’s configuration, strength, and overall usability.
Nitin Gadkari said, “The project’s approval comes as a testament to the government’s commitment to improving connectivity and transportation networks, thereby facilitating smoother and safer journeys for citizens. The Sitamarhi-Jaynagar-Narhiya section, a pivotal route in the state, will witness significant enhancements as a result of this undertaking”.
He said, “The rehabilitation and upgradation work, which includes the transformation to a 2 lane/2 lane with paved shoulder configuration and strengthening measures, is set to have a substantial impact on road quality and user experience. The investment of Rs. 278.54 crore underscores the scale and importance of the project in uplifting the state’s road infrastructure”.
The NHIIP’s approval of this project aligns with the broader objective of enhancing economic development, regional connectivity, and accessibility to remote areas. By investing in road infrastructure, the government aims to contribute to job creation, ease of transportation, and overall socio-economic progress.
The Sitamarhi-Jaynagar-Narhiya section’s rehabilitation is a step forward in ensuring that the state’s citizens have access to safer and more efficient transportation routes. The project’s focus on configuration enhancements and strength is indicative of the government’s commitment to building durable and resilient road networks.
