NCS Reports 3.2 Magnitude Earthquake in Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu & Kashmir – Earthquake: The National Center for Seismology, India, has issued a statement confirming an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 in Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir. The tremor occurred at 08:01:00 Indian Standard Time (IST) on February 12, 2024. According to the report, the earthquake’s epicenter was situated at a depth of 5 km, with coordinates indicating a latitude of 33.43 and a longitude of 76.56.

While earthquakes of this magnitude are considered minor and typically result in minimal damage, residents in the affected region may have experienced shaking or tremors. Kishtwar, located in the hilly terrain of Jammu & Kashmir, is no stranger to seismic activity, given its proximity to tectonic plate boundaries.
