Arunachal Pradesh: In a significant move towards bolstering infrastructure in the Northeastern region of India, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, has sanctioned a substantial fund of Rs. 2,248.94 crore for the construction of the Lada-Sarli section of NH-913, commonly known as the Frontier Highway, in Arunachal Pradesh. This crucial development project will be executed in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode and will cover a length of 105.59 kilometers, encompassing Packages 1, 2, 3, and 6.
The approval for this project underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity in remote and strategically important areas of Arunachal Pradesh. Shri Gadkari highlighted the multifaceted benefits of this initiative, emphasizing its potential to stimulate tourism and serve the sparsely populated regions of Upper Arunachal. Moreover, the project anticipates a future surge in traffic volume, aligning with the government’s vision to fortify the transportation network in the region.
The Lada-Sarli section of NH-913 assumes paramount significance in the broader context of infrastructural development in Arunachal Pradesh. As a greenfield road project, it is poised to open up new avenues for economic growth and social development in the region. By bridging the existing gaps in connectivity, the highway will facilitate smoother movement of goods and people, thereby fostering trade and commerce in the area.
Arunachal Pradesh, with its rugged terrain and challenging geographical conditions, has long required robust infrastructure to unlock its true potential. The Frontier Highway project is a testament to the government’s proactive approach towards addressing these challenges and promoting holistic development across the state. By investing in the construction of modern highways like NH-913, the government aims to catalyze socio-economic progress and improve the quality of life for the residents of Arunachal Pradesh.
The implementation of the Lada-Sarli section of NH-913 will not only enhance connectivity within the state but also strengthen its linkages with neighboring regions. As part of the broader network of national highways, it will contribute to the seamless integration of Arunachal Pradesh with the rest of the country, facilitating easier access to markets and resources. This, in turn, will create new opportunities for trade and investment, driving overall growth and prosperity in the region.
Furthermore, the emphasis on greenfield development underscores the government’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure initiatives. By adopting eco-friendly practices and leveraging modern technologies, the project aims to minimize environmental impact while maximizing long-term benefits for the local communities.
