Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhonsle was born on 24th Feb 1966, in the royal family of the Bhonsles of Satara, Maharashtra. He is the 13th descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire. From a young age, Udayanraje was exposed to the Maratha culture and the legacy of his ancestors. He was educated at the Rajkumar College in Rajkot, Gujarat, and later completed his Bachelor of Arts from Bombay University.
Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhonsle began his political career in 1996 when he was elected as a Member of Parliament from Satara, Maharashtra. He was later re-elected in 1998, 1999, and 2004. During his tenure as a Member of Parliament, Udayanraje played an active role in the development of Satara and the surrounding areas.
