Who was Swami Ranganathananda?
Swami Ranganathananda was born in 1908 in Kerala, India. He joined the Ramakrishna Mission in 1926 and was initiated into sannyasa (monastic life) in 1933. He was a brilliant scholar and earned a degree in physics from the University of Madras. He later went on to complete his Master’s in Philosophy at the University of Calcutta.
Swami Ranganathananda served as the President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission from 1988. He was a prolific writer and his works include books on Vedanta philosophy, psychology, and spirituality. Some of his notable works include “Human Being in Depth”, “The Message of the Upanishads”, and “The Art of Living”.
