Expressing deep sadness, Gadkari remarked, “The news of the demise of former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and senior BJP leader Harishankar Bhabhra is sad.” He paid homage to Bhabhra’s unwavering commitment, stating, “My heartfelt tribute to him. Harishankar ji’s entire life was dedicated to the party and organization.” Gadkari concluded with a wish for solace, saying, “May God give peace to the departed soul and strength to the family.”
Harishankar Bhabhra, who battled illness in the final days, passed away at Rungta Hospital in Jaipur. His contributions as a skilled politician, adept administrator, and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were noteworthy. Bhabhra served as the Speaker of the Rajasthan legislative assembly from 1990 to 1994, winning state legislative elections in 1985, 1990, and 1993 from Ratangarh in Churu district.
A prominent figure in Rajasthan politics, Bhabhra also held the position of Deputy Chief Minister from 1994 to 1998. Beyond state politics, he was the deputy chairperson of the Economic Policy and Reform Council in the Rajasthan Government. His political career extended to the national arena as a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1978 to 1984.
