On the 24th of February Union, Minister Nitin Gadkari visit the Samadhi of senior leader “Pandurang Fundkar” and pays tribute during his visit to Khamgaon.
Bhausaheb Fundkar (real name: Pandurang Pundalik Fundkar; 21 August 1950 – 31 May 2018), was the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council in India.
He was a Member of Parliament from Akola in Maharashtra for the 9th Lok Sabha (1989-1991), 10th Lok Sabha (1991-1996), and 11th Lok Sabha. He was also a former president of the State BJP. Buldhana was the place of his birth in 1950.
In 1978 and 1980, he was elected as a member of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha from the Khamgaon (Vidhan Sabha constituency). He was sworn in as a Cabinet Minister in Devendra Fadnavis’ government on July 8, 2016.
Due to a massive heart attack, he passed away on 31 May 2018 at Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai.
