Basavaraj Somappa Bommai,(born 28 January 1960) an Indian politician and engineer, is the current and 23rd Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Basavaraj S Bommai is the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Karnataka, who took office in July 2021. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has been an active politician for several years. Before becoming the Chief Minister, he held several key positions in the party and the government.
Bommai began his political career in the 1980s as a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist organization.
