Ola, the leading ride-hailing platform, has initiated e-bike services in Delhi and Hyderabad, accompanied by competitive pricing details. According to the official statement, Ola’s e-bike fares commence at ₹25 for 5 km, ₹50 for 10 km, and ₹75 for 15 km.
Beyond the current cities, Ola is gearing up to introduce the e-bike service in Bengaluru, backed by the establishment of 200 charging stations to support its e-bike fleet in the city.
Hemant Bakshi, CEO of Ola Mobility, expressed optimism about the e-bike taxi pilot’s success in Bangalore, citing benefits for consumers, drivers, and Ola. The company plans to deploy 10,000 electric two-wheelers across Bengaluru, Delhi, and Hyderabad in the next two months, aiming for nationwide expansion by the end of the year.
Ola claims to have the largest EV 2W fleet in the country with the deployment of these vehicles, and to date, it boasts over 1.75 million rides. The move aligns with Ola’s broader growth strategy, encompassing ride-hailing, financial services, logistics, and e-commerce. The introduction of e-bike services adds a sustainable and convenient transportation option to Ola’s diverse offerings.
