In a recent speech, Prime Minister Modi expressed his vision of “One world, One Future, One Family” emphasizing the importance of global unity and cooperation on World TB day confrence. He also highlighted India’s efforts in the fight against tuberculosis (TB) over the last nine years. These efforts have been focused on several key areas, including increasing people’s participation, enhancing nutrition, innovating treatments, integrating technology, and promoting wellness and prevention. These efforts have helped to improve TB outcomes in India and serve as a model for other countries facing similar challenges.
Ni-kshay Mitras, a team of trained volunteers, have provided a significant boost to India’s fight against tuberculosis (TB). India is the first country in the world to have created the Ni-kshay portal, which is designed to support the management and treatment of TB. The country has set a goal to end TB by 2030, a vision that Prime Minister Modi recently emphasized by stating “we can end TB.” As part of the effort to combat TB in rural areas, TB panchayats are being formed to facilitate discussions and reduce the spread of the disease. Through these initiatives and partnerships, India is making progress towards ending the TB epidemic.
