As part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of education and creating better career opportunities for students, the Ministry of Defence’s Sainik School Society has taken a significant step forward. The government has embarked on an initiative to establish 100 new Sainik Schools across the country in partnership with eligible schools, trusts, NGOs, and other educational institutions.
Reopening of Registration Portal
In line with this initiative, the Sainik School Society has reopened its registration portal, which can be accessed at https://sainikschool.ncog.gov.in/. This portal will be open for registration of eligible and interested applicant schools from September 27, 2023, until November 25, 2023.
Qualitative Requirements and Guidelines
Schools, trusts, NGOs, and other entities interested in participating in this initiative are advised to carefully review the Qualitative Requirements, Memorandum of Agreement, and Rules and regulations for the new Sainik Schools. These documents are available on the portal to provide comprehensive guidance to potential partners.
For schools, NGOs, trusts, and societies that have already registered and applied during Round 1 and Round 2 of the initiative, there is no need to submit a fresh application or pay the registration fee again. However, previously registered applicants will have the opportunity to update their data on the portal with any fresh information, if necessary.
Support and Clarification
For any further clarification or assistance, interested schools and organizations are encouraged to contact the Sainik School Society via email at sainikschoolaffiliation[at]gmail[dot]com.
The government’s vision for establishing new Sainik Schools is multifaceted. These institutions aim to:
- Provide quality education that aligns with the National Education Policy and prepares students for a wide range of career opportunities, including service in the Armed Forces.
- Create collaborative opportunities for State Governments, NGOs, and the private sector to work alongside the Central Government in the pursuit of nation-building goals.
Expanding the Sainik School Network
As part of this initiative, the Sainik Schools Society has already approved 42 private institutions, NGOs, and state government schools to become new Sainik Schools. These 42 schools will operate alongside the existing 33 Sainik Schools, following the Rules and Regulations for new Sainik Schools in partnership mode.
A Holistic Approach to Education
In addition to their regular curriculum, these new Sainik Schools will offer the Academic PLUS curriculum to students. This holistic approach to education is designed to ensure that students receive a well-rounded and comprehensive educational experience.
The government’s commitment to the establishment of new Sainik Schools underscores its dedication to enhancing the educational landscape and providing students with opportunities for personal and professional growth. This initiative seeks to empower young minds, equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in diverse fields, and contribute to the nation’s progress.
