P. P. Chaudhary, born on July 12, 1953, is a prominent Indian politician associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). With a successful legal career as a Senior Advocate and a remarkable journey in politics, Chaudhary currently represents the Pali Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan in the 17th Lok Sabha. Known for his dedication and contributions to public service, he holds significant positions in various parliamentary committees and has played an active role in shaping key legislation.

Early Life and Education:

P. P. Chaudhary was born in Bhavi village, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, into a farming family. At the tender age of eight, he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Shakha, which played a crucial role in his upbringing and early education. Chaudhary obtained Bachelor’s degrees in B.Sc. and L.L.B. from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur. He commenced his legal career in 1978, practicing law in the esteemed Jodhpur High Court. Political Journey:

Chaudhary’s political career took flight when he contested the Indian general elections in 2014 from the Pali Lok Sabha constituency, emerging victorious with an impressive margin of over 4 lakh votes. P. P. Chaudhary took oath as the Minister of State in the Union Council of Ministers on July 5, 2016, assuming responsibility for the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. In this role, he actively worked towards bridging the digital divide between urban and rural areas. Chaudhary played a pivotal role in connecting approximately 1 lakh gram panchayats through an optical fiber network and introducing Wi-Fi hotspots in villages.

Minister of State for Law and Justice:

From July 5, 2016, to May 30, 2019, Chaudhary held the position of Minister of State for the Ministry of Law and Justice, working alongside Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. In April 2018, Chaudhary represented the Government of India at the Marrakech Law Ministers International Conference on Justice in Morocco, with a specific focus on the theme of “the independence of the judiciary.” In October 2017, he led a delegation to the SCO Justice Ministers’ Meeting in Tashkent.

Minister of State for Corporate Affairs:

On September 3, 2017, P. P. Chaudhary was appointed as the Minister of State for the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. In this role, he spearheaded a massive drive to strike off the names of 2.5 lakh non-compliant shell companies, contributing to the government’s efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in the corporate sector.
