Phase 3 of Lok Sabha Elections 2024: As Phase 3 of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 approaches, the electoral landscape is abuzz with activity, witnessing a total of 1351 candidates gearing up to contest across 12 States/Union Territories (UTs). Among them are eight candidates vying for the adjourned poll in the 29-Betul (ST) Parliamentary Constituency of Madhya Pradesh.

Adding to the dynamics, one candidate from Surat PC in Gujarat has already been elected unopposed, highlighting the diversity of electoral scenarios across the nation.

The electoral process witnessed an initial surge of enthusiasm, with a total of 2963 nominations filed for 95 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs), encompassing the 12 States/UTs set for polling in Phase 3 of the elections. Following scrutiny, 1563 nominations were deemed valid, paving the way for the final stages of the electoral battle.

Gujarat emerged as a frontrunner in terms of nomination filings, with a staggering 658 forms submitted for 26 Parliamentary Constituencies. Maharashtra closely followed with 519 nominations across 11 PCs. Notably, the 40-Osmanabad PC in Maharashtra received the highest number of nomination forms at 77, while the 5-Bilaspur PC in Chhattisgarh trailed closely with 68 nominations.

With the last date for withdrawal of candidature having passed on April 22, 2024, the stage is now set for a spirited electoral contest in Phase 3. As candidates gear up to engage in rigorous campaigning and woo voters, the nation eagerly awaits the unfolding of yet another significant chapter in its democratic journey.
