The Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 was officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi in Lucknow on February 10th, 2023.
The summit is the flagship investment event of the Uttar Pradesh government and brings together prominent leaders from the world of politics, business, academia and think tanks to explore business opportunities and forge new partnerships. The Prime Minister’s visit to Lucknow was marked by several key highlights, including the inauguration of the Global Trade Show and the launch of Invest UP 2.0.
Leaders of industry spoke highly of the Prime Minister’s leadership and the impact he has had on the country’s economic landscape. Shri Kumar Mangalam Birla praised India’s entrepreneurial dynamism and innovation and credited the Prime Minister with infusing new energy into the country’s economy.
Shri Mukesh Ambani praised the latest budget, which he said had laid the foundation for India’s emergence as a developed nation. He also praised the Prime Minister’s leadership and focus on execution, which he said was helping to shape a bold new India. Shri Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, said that the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership was leading India towards being the fastest-growing economy and that the budget allocations would ensure growth led by infrastructure and consumption, with a focus on rural growth.
The Prime Minister’s address to the gathering was well received by the audience, as he welcomed investors, industry leaders, and policymakers to Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister emphasized the state’s rich cultural heritage, glorious history, and capabilities while acknowledging that it had been known in the past for underdevelopment, poor law and order, and corruption.
However, he stressed that within the past 5-6 years, Uttar Pradesh had established a new identity, marked by good governance, improved law and order, peace, and stability. He also highlighted the initiatives being taken to improve infrastructure in the state, such as the development of five international airports, and a freight corridor connecting the state directly with the sea coast in Maharashtra.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the government’s efforts to ease the process of doing business in Uttar Pradesh and highlighted the state as a source of hope and inspiration, becoming a bright spot for the nation, just as India has become a bright spot on the global stage.
The summit was a resounding success and demonstrated the commitment of the Uttar Pradesh government to promoting investment and growth in the state. With the participation of prominent leaders and industry experts, the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 has set the stage for a new era of growth and progress in the state.
