On the 26th of February The PM of India, Shri Narendra Modi praised the efforts of the Election Commission of India (ECI) in ensuring that every eligible voter in Meghalaya can vote with ease. The ECI has dispatched 974 polling teams across 59 poll-going assembly constituencies in the state. The teams have gone above and beyond their call of duty to ensure that even the most remote areas and difficult terrains are covered.

The ECI teams have trekked for hours across difficult terrains, sailed to the Kamsing polling station, which has only 35 voters and used traditional Khasi baskets to carry polling materials to ensure that no voter is left behind. These efforts are monumental, and they highlight the commitment and dedication of the ECI to ensure that every eligible voter in Meghalaya has the opportunity to cast their vote.

The Prime Minister’s laudatory remarks come as no surprise, as the ECI has been making every effort to ensure that elections in Meghalaya are free, fair, and transparent. The ECI has implemented several measures to ensure that the voting process is smooth and hassle-free. The commission has also taken measures to ensure that the elections are conducted in a COVID-safe environment.

The ECI has also made arrangements for persons with disabilities (PWD) to vote with ease. The commission has provided ramps and other facilities to make voting accessible to all PWDs. The commission has also taken measures to ensure that the elderly and vulnerable populations are not at risk during the voting process.

The efforts of the ECI have been lauded not just by the Prime Minister but also by the people of Meghalaya. The people have appreciated the efforts of the ECI in ensuring that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their vote. The ECI’s efforts have also boosted the morale of the polling teams who have been working tirelessly to ensure that the elections are conducted smoothly.

ECI’s efforts to ensure that every eligible voter in Meghalaya can vote with ease are commendable. The commission has gone above and beyond its call of duty to ensure that even the most remote areas are covered. The Prime Minister’s laudatory remarks highlight the dedication and commitment of the ECI to ensure that elections in India are conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner.
