In a momentous event, PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a slew of development projects valued at more than Rs. 50,700 crore in Bina, Madhya Pradesh. These ambitious projects encompass various sectors and are poised to usher in a new era of growth and prosperity in the region. The key projects include:
- Petrochemical Complex at Bina Refinery: One of the flagship projects of the day, this complex, to be developed at a staggering cost of about Rs. 49,000 crores, marks a significant step towards self-sufficiency in the petrochemical industry. It is a critical move to reduce India’s dependence on foreign nations for petrochemical products.
- Power and Renewable Energy Manufacturing Zone: Located in Narmadapuram district, this zone promises to boost the renewable energy sector, aligning with India’s clean energy goals.
- IT Parks in Indore: Two IT parks are set to bolster the IT industry in Indore, creating job opportunities and stimulating economic growth.
- Mega Industrial Park in Ratlam: This industrial park is expected to become a focal point for industrial activity, spurring economic development in the Ratlam region.
- Six New Industrial Areas: These industrial areas, distributed across Madhya Pradesh, will play a pivotal role in enhancing the state’s industrial prowess and generating employment opportunities.
Prime Minister Modi, addressing the gathering, underscored the historical significance of Bundelkhand as a land of warriors and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. He also reminisced about participating in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Sant Ravidas Ji memorial.
“Highlighting the colossal investment of 50 thousand crore rupees in these projects by the central government, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to the development of Madhya Pradesh. He compared this investment to the budgets of several states in the country, indicating the magnitude of development plans for the state”.
In the context of the Azadi ka Amrit Kaal, the Prime Minister called upon every citizen to contribute to the transformation of India into a developed nation. He stressed the importance of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), emphasizing the need to reduce imports. The Petrochemical Complex at Bina Refinery was lauded as a significant step towards achieving self-reliance in the petrochemical industry, crucial for the production of various plastic and industrial products.
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the importance of the manufacturing sector, with the commencement of work on ten new industrial projects. These projects, located in Narmadapuram, Indore, and Ratlam, are set to bolster Madhya Pradesh’s industrial landscape.
“Reflecting on the state’s transformation journey, Prime Minister Modi noted the significant improvements in law and order, infrastructure development, and connectivity, which have attracted industries to the state. He expressed confidence in Madhya Pradesh’s potential for industrial development in the coming years”.
The Prime Minister celebrated India’s progress and unity on the global stage, as demonstrated by the successful hosting of the G20 summit. He praised the people of India for their role in this success and highlighted the positive impact of G20 events on various cities, notably Khajuraho, Indore, and Bhopal, which enhanced Madhya Pradesh’s global image.
Prime Minister Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to serving the nation and prioritizing the welfare of the underprivileged. He highlighted various pro-people initiatives, including housing for the poor, access to medical treatment, financial inclusion, and reduced gas cylinder prices.
“The Prime Minister also emphasized the government’s efforts to support farmers through measures such as providing cheap fertilizers and ensuring affordable access to urea. He underscored the significance of irrigation projects and piped water supply in Bundelkhand, benefiting farmers and households”.
