Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his best wishes to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan on his birthday. “Best wishes to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on his birthday. Praying for his long life and wonderful health,” PM Modi said in a heartfelt message.
Pinarayi Vijayan, born on May 24, 1945, is a prominent Indian politician currently serving as the Chief Minister of Kerala since May 25, 2016. A member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Vijayan holds the distinction of being the longest-serving secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the CPI(M) from 1998 to 2015.
Before becoming Chief Minister, Vijayan served as Kerala’s Minister of Electric Power and Co-operatives from 1996 to 1998. He secured a seat in the Kerala Legislative Assembly in May 2016 from the Dharmadom constituency as a CPI(M) candidate and led the Left Democratic Front (LDF) to victory, becoming the 12th Chief Minister of Kerala.
Notably, Pinarayi Vijayan is the first Chief Minister from Kerala to be re-elected after completing a full five-year term. In 2022, he also became the longest-serving Chief Minister of Kerala, surpassing C. Achutha Menon’s record of 2,364 consecutive days in office.
PM Modi’s birthday wishes highlight the respect and camaraderie shared between leaders across political boundaries, acknowledging Vijayan’s significant contributions to the state of Kerala.
