In a significant move towards accelerating Pune’s development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various key projects. These initiatives aim to improve the city’s infrastructure and contribute to the betterment of its residents.
Waste to Energy Plant – A Step towards Sustainability:
Among the projects unveiled, the Waste to Energy Plant, developed at a cost of approximately Rs 300 crores, stands out as a crucial step towards sustainable waste management. Under the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), this innovative facility will convert waste into clean energy, promoting environmental conservation and reducing landfill burden.
Boosting Affordable Housing – A Dream Realized:
In line with the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing for all, the Prime Minister handed over more than 1280 houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by PCMC. This significant initiative aims to provide a dignified living space to eligible beneficiaries, empowering them to lead better lives with improved access to basic amenities.
Additionally, the Prime Minister oversaw the handover of more than 2650 PMAY houses constructed by Pune Municipal Corporation. These houses represent the government’s dedication to uplifting the underprivileged and providing them with a solid foundation for their future.

The inauguration and foundation-laying of these key projects underscore the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
