Defence Production: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has celebrated India’s remarkable achievement in defence production, which reached a record high of Rs 1,26,887 crore in 2023-24. This represents a significant 16.8% increase compared to the previous financial year.
Sharing a post on X by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation:
“Very encouraging development. Congratulations to all who contributed to this achievement. We are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment to further advance our capabilities and position India as a premier global defence manufacturing hub. This progress will strengthen our security infrastructure and drive us towards self-reliance”.
This milestone is seen as a major step towards enhancing India’s self-reliance in defence and positioning the country as a significant player in the global defence manufacturing sector.
