Narayan Rane’s Birthday: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to extend heartfelt birthday wishes to Union Minister Narayan Rane, lauding his dedication as a grassroots leader and his significant contributions to public life. PM Modi highlighted Rane’s instrumental role in fortifying the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) sector, expressing prayers for his continued well-being.
Narayan Tatu Rane, born on April 10, 1952, has traversed a distinguished political career, serving as the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and currently holding the portfolio of Minister of Micro, Small, & Medium Enterprises in the Second Modi Ministry. Over the years, Rane has held various Cabinet Ministry positions, including Industry, Port, Employment and Self-employment, Revenue, and Industry in the Government of Maharashtra.
Rane’s political journey has seen him evolve from being a member of the Shiv Sena and opposition leader of Vidhan Sabha to joining the Indian National Congress party in July 2005. Subsequently, he ventured into launching the Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha after departing from the Congress in September 2017. However, Rane’s alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2018 marked a significant turn, leading to his election to the Rajya Sabha on a BJP nomination. Notably, Rane merged his party, Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha, into the BJP on October 15, 2019.
Narayan Rane’s journey exemplifies the fluidity of Indian politics and the significance of alliances in shaping political landscapes. As he celebrates his birthday, Rane’s contributions to Maharashtra’s governance and his endeavors at the national level remain integral to India’s political discourse.
