The article also highlights Nitish Kumar’s political journey, including his resignation and subsequent return to the NDA alliance.
In a recent development, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to Shri Nitish Kumar, who has taken oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the ninth time. The Prime Minister also acknowledged the swearing-in of Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Samrat Chaudhary and Shri Vijay Sinha, emphasizing the strength of the newly formed government.
PM Modi stated, “The NDA administration in Bihar is dedicated to sparing no effort in fostering the state’s development & meeting the aspirations of its residents.” He reaffirmed his well-wishes for Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary, and Vijay Sinha, expressing trust in their committed service to the people of Bihar.
Notably, Nitish Kumar’s political journey has seen various twists and turns. On August 9, 2022, he broke the alliance with the BJP and resigned as Chief Minister. However, he later rejoined the Mahagathbandhan, comprising RJD, INC, CPI, and other independents, forming a governing coalition and taking the oath as Chief Minister for the eighth time on August 10.
During his sixth term, Kumar initiated the Samadhan Yatra, a campaign aimed at overseeing the implementation of government developmental schemes across Bihar. This campaign demonstrated his commitment to addressing the needs of the state.
However, controversies arose on November 8, 2023, when the Bihar Assembly adjourned amidst protests over Kumar’s remarks about women’s education and population control. Prime Minister Modi criticized Kumar, who later apologized, retracting his statements and reaffirming his support for women’s empowerment.
On January 28, 2024, Nitish Kumar resigned as Chief Minister and rejoined the NDA alliance, breaking the Mahagathbandhan with RJD and Congress. The same day, he was sworn in as Chief Minister for the ninth time in 24 years. The political dynamics continue to shape Bihar’s landscape, with Nitish Kumar at the helm once again.
