PM Modi Flags off the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor and Namo Bharat RapidX Train.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on an auspicious day during the Navratra festival, inaugurated a momentous event for the nation. He marked the inauguration of the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor at Sahibabad RapidX Station, Ghaziabad, and flagged off the Namo Bharat RapidX train. This significant occasion heralded the launch of India’s first Rapid Rail Service, promising modernity and speed in the country’s transportation landscape.

Historic Moment for India

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi shared the historical significance of the day. He recalled laying the foundation stone for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor four years ago and celebrated the completion of the Sahibabad to Duhai Depot stretch. The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to inaugurating projects whose foundation stones are laid, expressing confidence in inaugurating the completion of the Meerut stretch after one and a half years.

Empowering Women in Transportation

Prime Minister Modi took pride in his experience traveling on board the Namo Bharat train earlier in the day. He expressed delight at the transformation of India’s railways and noted that the Namo Bharat train has been blessed by Mata Katyayani. Highlighting a remarkable aspect, the Prime Minister revealed that women make up the entire support staff and the locomotive pilots of the newly inaugurated Namo Bharat Train, symbolizing the strengthening of women’s power in the country.

The Prime Minister congratulated the people of Delhi, NCR, and Western Uttar Pradesh for the day’s projects. He emphasized the modernity and speed of the Namo Bharat Train and how it defines the new journey of New India, along with its new resolutions. The train is not just a mode of transportation but a symbol of the nation’s transformation with growing economic muscle.

Transformation of Indian Railways

Prime Minister Modi underlined that this decade is the decade of transformation for Indian Railways. He expressed his ambition for Indian trains to be among the best in the world by the end of this decade, focusing on safety, cleanliness, facilities, coordination, sensitivity, and capability. The Prime Minister mentioned initiatives like Namo Bharat and Vande Bharat, the upgradation of railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Railway station scheme, and the goal of achieving 100 percent electrification.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the concept of multi-modal connectivity, where Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad, and Meerut bus stations, metro stations, and railway stations are being connected by the Namo Bharat system. This approach ensures improved transportation and accessibility for the people.

A Focus on Civic Ease and Quality of Life

The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s focus on improving the standard of living and the quality of life for all citizens. The infrastructure development in India aims to provide better air quality, eliminate garbage dump yards, enhance educational facilities, and improve public transport services. He also mentioned the government’s significant investment in public transport and the development of land, air, and sea routes.

Progress in Agriculture and Welfare

Prime Minister Modi discussed recent decisions taken by the Union Cabinet, including increased Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for Rabi crops, focusing on agriculture and the welfare of farmers. The Prime Minister underlined the availability of affordable urea to Indian farmers and the government’s support in utilizing crop residues for biofuel and ethanol production.

Noting the ongoing festive period, Prime Minister Modi highlighted various decisions taken by the government that benefit farmers, employees, and pensioners. These decisions are expected to promote economic activities and contribute to the overall well-being of the country.

The inauguration event was attended by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Ms. Anandiben Patel, CM of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, & Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri. Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Siddaramaiah, also joined the event via video conferencing.
