Nashik: In a spirited celebration of India’s vibrant youth, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik, Maharashtra, today. The event commenced with floral tributes to the portraits of Swami Vivekanand and Rajmata Jijau, followed by a captivating cultural program highlighting India’s rich heritage and the potential of its youth.
“Addressing the gathered crowd, the Prime Minister remarked on the significance of the occasion, dedicated to the memory of Swami Vivekanand, a transformative figure who infused the nation with energy during challenging times. He extended his best wishes to the youth on National Youth Day, commemorating Swami Vivekanand’s birth anniversary, and acknowledged the birth anniversary of Rajmata Jijabai, symbolizing India’s women’s power”.
Prime Minister Modi underlined the historical importance of Maharashtra, a land that has produced numerous great personalities, attributing it to the virtuous and brave soil. He paid homage to the land that gave rise to Chhatrapati Shivaji, Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, Ramabai Ambedkar, Lokmanya Tilak, Veer Savarkar, Anant Kanhere, Dadasaheb Potnis, and Chapekar Bandhu.
“Drawing connections to the current focus on cleanliness, the Prime Minister shared his visit to the Shree Kalaram Temple in Nashik, stressing the need for cleanliness campaigns in all temples and pilgrimage centers across the country before the consecration ceremony of the upcoming Shree Ram Temple”.
PM Modi highlighted the pivotal role of youth power in India’s achievements, citing Sri Aurobindo and Swami Vivekananda. He emphasized India’s entry into the top 5 economies, its position among the top 3 startup ecosystems, and the record number of patents as manifestations of the nation’s youth power.
The Prime Minister urged the youth to recognize the unique moment of ‘Amrit Kaal,’ a period filled with opportunities. He invoked the contributions of historical figures like M Visvesvaraya, Major Dhyan Chand, Bhagat Singh, and others, urging the youth to work towards taking the nation to new heights.
“Acknowledging the government’s efforts in creating opportunities for the youth, PM Modi highlighted developments in education, employment, entrepreneurship, emerging sectors, startups, skills, and sports. He mentioned the implementation of the New Educational Policy, the PM Vishwakarma Yojna, PM Kaushal Vikas Yojna, and the establishment of new IITs and NITs”.
The Prime Minister celebrated the youthful spirit of India, emphasizing achievements in technology, space exploration, and manufacturing. He encouraged the youth to take India forward during the ‘Amrit Kaal’ and set new challenges for themselves, including contributing to a 5 trillion dollar economy, becoming the 3rd largest economy, and combating climate change.
PM Modi expressed confidence in the young generation, free from the influence of slavery, becoming brand ambassadors of yoga, and Ayurveda, and promoting Indian millets and coarse grains. He urged them to serve the nation through politics, emphasizing the importance of democracy and participation.
