TATA Aircraft Complex: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, inaugurated the TATA Aircraft Complex in Vadodara, Gujarat, marking a significant milestone for India’s defense sector. This state-of-the-art facility, housed within Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. (TASL), will manufacture C-295 military transport aircraft, amplifying India’s ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision.

Highlighting the importance of this collaboration, PM Modi emphasized how the C-295 aircraft production would enhance India-Spain relations and further India’s defense self-sufficiency. The Tata-Airbus joint venture reflects New India’s efficient project execution and builds on a new defense manufacturing model in India, set to benefit MSMEs and skilled professionals across the nation.
Transforming India’s Defense Ecosystem and Creating Jobs
The new facility will support the creation of over 18,000 aircraft parts domestically, generating substantial employment and skill-building opportunities. The plant represents India’s first private sector Final Assembly Line (FAL) for military aircraft, an important development for India’s defense manufacturing sector, with both private and public entities contributing.

Prime Minister Modi noted that the facility extends beyond military aircraft manufacturing, aiming to contribute to India’s growing aviation sector.
