PM Modi Inaugurates 300 MW Nokhra Solar Project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone in India’s renewable energy journey by dedicating the 300 MW Nokhra Solar Project of NTPC Green Energy Limited to the nation. This commendable initiative is poised to make substantial contributions towards sustainable energy and environmental conservation.

With an impressive capacity to generate 730 million units of electricity annually, the Nokhra Solar Project is not only set to illuminate over 1.3 lakh households but also plays a crucial role in combating climate change. By restricting approximately 6 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions each year, the project aligns with India’s ambitious targets for carbon reduction and environmental preservation.

Looking ahead, the Nokhra Solar Project is projected to further curtail CO2 emissions, aiming to restrict emissions to the tune of 15 million tonnes over 25 years. This underscores the long-term impact and sustainability of the project in mitigating climate change and fostering a greener future for generations to come.

A key highlight of the Nokhra Solar Project is the installation of over 13 lakh solar PV modules, a testament to the government’s flagship Make-in-India program. This not only bolsters India’s self-reliance goals but also reinforces the nation’s commitment to harnessing indigenous resources for sustainable development.

The inauguration of the Nokhra Solar Project symbolizes India’s resolve towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, promoting self-sufficiency and innovation in the renewable energy sector. It serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration, showcasing India’s leadership in embracing clean energy solutions to address pressing environmental challenges.

As the nation strides towards a greener and more sustainable future, initiatives like the Nokhra Solar Project exemplify India’s unwavering commitment to combating climate change and fostering inclusive growth through renewable energy.
