PM Modi Commemorates 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas in Ladakh

On this day, PM Modi attended the Shraddhanjali Samaroh in Ladakh, where he honored the sacrifices of the armed forces. He participated in the Gaurav Gatha, a briefing on the Kargil War, and visited the Amar Sansmaran: Hut of Remembrance. The Prime Minister emphasized that the sacrifices made for the nation are immortal and that the country remains indebted to its brave soldiers.

Shinkun La Tunnel Project

During his visit, Modi also witnessed the first blast of the Shinkun La Tunnel Project, a crucial infrastructure initiative aimed at providing all-weather connectivity to Leh. The 4.1 km long twin-tube tunnel will significantly ease transportation challenges faced by the region, ensuring that Ladakh remains connected to the rest of the country year-round.

Reflections on the Kargil War

PM Modi reflected on the Kargil War, recalling the bravery of Indian soldiers who executed difficult operations at high altitudes. He condemned Pakistan’s deceit during the conflict and reiterated that India will not tolerate terrorism.
