Chhattisgarh: In a significant move towards empowering women and ensuring their economic independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mahatari Vandana Yojana in Chhattisgarh. The scheme, aimed at promoting gender equality and strengthening the role of women in families, offers monthly financial assistance of ₹1000 to eligible married women in the state.
The Mahatari Vandana Yojana, launched with the vision of ensuring economic empowerment and financial security for women, particularly those above 21 years of age, will also benefit widows, divorced, and deserted women. With an estimated 70 lakh women set to benefit from this initiative, the government reaffirms its commitment to the holistic well-being and dignity of women.
During the launch event, Prime Minister Modi reiterated the government’s unwavering focus on women’s welfare, highlighting various initiatives aimed at empowering women across different sectors. He emphasized the significance of mothers and daughters in strengthening families and reiterated the government’s commitment to their welfare.
Prime Minister Modi announced additional measures to support pregnant women, including free vaccinations and financial assistance during pregnancy. He also underscored the provision of free healthcare services for frontline workers, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to society.
“Reflecting on past challenges faced by women, particularly regarding sanitation facilities, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the government’s efforts to ensure dignity by providing toilets in every household. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made during elections, ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives like the Mahatari Vandana Yojana”.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi assured farmers of timely payment of pending bonuses and reiterated the government’s commitment to procuring rice at minimum support prices. He celebrated record procurement levels and highlighted the government’s support for farmers’ welfare.
