Jammu & Kashmir: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Srinagar, addressed the Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir program, marking a significant milestone in the region’s development journey. He dedicated the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme worth approximately Rs 5000 crores to the nation and launched multiple tourism projects exceeding Rs 1400 crore under Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD schemes, including the Integrated Development of Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar.
At the event, Prime Minister Modi also launched the ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll’ and ‘Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign’ while announcing tourist destinations selected under the Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) Scheme. Additionally, he distributed appointment letters to about 1000 new Government recruits of Jammu and Kashmir and interacted with beneficiaries of various government schemes, including women achievers, farmers, and entrepreneurs.
During the interaction, Nazim Nazeer, a beekeeper from Pulwama, shared his journey of business expansion, highlighting government support initiatives that propelled his success. Prime Minister Modi commended Nazeer’s efforts in leading a “sweet revolution” and encouraged him to explore innovative avenues for honey production, emphasizing the niche market potential.
Ahtesham Majid Bhat, a bakery entrepreneur from Srinagar, and Hamida Bano, involved in the dairy business from Ganderbal, shared their entrepreneurial experiences and the support received from government schemes. Prime Minister Modi praised their initiative and determination, affirming the government’s commitment to empower youth and women entrepreneurs.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for the warm reception and affection from the people of Jammu and Kashmir, pledging to continue efforts to fulfill their aspirations. He highlighted the transformative potential of development projects in enhancing the region’s prosperity and fostering national integration.
