Odisha: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi set the stage for a new era of development in Chandikhole, Odisha, with the inauguration and foundation stone laying of multiple transformative projects worth over Rs 19,600 crores. These projects span a diverse array of sectors including oil & gas, railways, roadways, transport & highways, and atomic energy, marking a significant leap forward in the region’s progress.
Addressing the gathered audience, the Prime Minister invoked the blessings of Lord Jagannath and Maa Birja, heralding a new wave of development in Jajpur and Odisha. He also paid homage to the late Shri Biju Patnaik, recognizing his unparalleled contributions to the nation and the state.
The Prime Minister underscored the monumental significance of inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for mega development projects valued at approximately Rs 20,000 crores. These projects, spanning vital sectors like petroleum, natural gas, atomic energy, roadways, railways, and connectivity, are poised to stimulate industrial activities and generate employment opportunities, thus fostering economic growth in the region.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing the present needs of the nation while advancing towards a developed India, Prime Minister Modi emphasized efforts to enhance the energy capabilities of Eastern states. He outlined the Urja Ganga Yojana’s endeavors in supplying natural gas to major states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha. Inaugurating key infrastructure such as the Paradip-Haldia product pipeline and the Indian Oil Corporation Limited Mono Ethylene Glycol project, he underscored their transformative impact on the region’s industrial landscape.
Drawing a contrast between past inertia and present proactive governance, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to completing development projects in a timely manner. Projects like the Paradip Refinery and the Paradip-Hyderabad Pipeline, long-delayed, finally saw fruition under the present administration’s leadership.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the utilization of Eastern India’s abundant natural resources for Odisha’s development, citing projects like the desalination plant in Ganjam district aimed at providing clean drinking water.
