Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new campus of Nalanda University at Rajgir, Bihar, a collaboration between India and East Asia Summit (EAS) countries. The event, attended by the Heads of Missions from 17 countries, marked a significant step in reviving the ancient center of learning. PM Modi also planted a sapling during the inauguration.
Rajgir: Significance of Nalanda’s Rejuvenation
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi expressed his gratitude for inaugurating the campus shortly after beginning his third term. He emphasized Nalanda’s historical and cultural importance, describing it as a symbol of knowledge that transcends destruction. The Prime Minister highlighted that the new campus signifies the beginning of a golden age for Indian education.
Global Collaboration and Support
PM Modi underlined the global significance of Nalanda’s revival, acknowledging the contributions of various countries. He praised the collaborative efforts in restoring Nalanda’s glory and emphasized that the university will showcase India’s capabilities to the world. The presence of international representatives underscored Nalanda’s heritage as a shared cultural asset.
Vision for Future Education
The Prime Minister highlighted the modern facilities and sustainable design of the new campus, which includes Net Zero Energy, Net Zero Emission, and Net Zero Water models. He stressed the importance of education in economic and cultural development, outlining India’s efforts to transform its education system. PM Modi’s vision is for India to become a global center of education and knowledge, with initiatives like Atal Tinkering Labs, Startup India, and improved global rankings for Indian institutions.
A New Era for Nalanda
The inauguration of Nalanda University’s new campus is a landmark event, symbolizing a fusion of ancient wisdom and modern education. PM Modi’s vision for Nalanda is not only to revive its past glory but also to make it a beacon of knowledge for the future.
