On the 12th of January PM Modi pays Tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary and he said His life always inspires patriotism, spirituality, and hard work. “His great thoughts and ideals will continue to guide the countrymen”.

Know About Swami Vivekananda:-

Narendranath Datta, later known as Swami Vivekananda, was born on 12 January 1863. He was an Indian Hindu monk, philosopher, author, religious teacher, and the chief disciple of the Indian mystic Ramakrishna. Vivekananda died on 4 July 1902.

He played a vital role in introducing Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world. Hinduism is credited with raising interfaith awareness and bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion.

After the 1893 Parliament of Religions in Chicago, Vivekananda became a popular figure when he introduced Hinduism to Americans by beginning his famous speech with the words, “Sisters and brothers of America….” An American newspaper described him as “an orator by divine right and undoubtedly the greatest figure at the Parliament” after he made a great impact there.

Vivekananda’s great success at the Parliament led to him delivering hundreds of lectures across the United States, England, and Europe in subsequent years.

He disseminated the core tenets of Hindu philosophy and founded the Vedanta Society of New York and the Vedanta Society of San Francisco (now the Vedanta Society of Northern California). These became the foundations for Vedanta Societies in the West.

Vivekananda was born into an aristocratic Bengali Kayastha family in Calcutta and was inclined from a young age toward religion and spirituality. He later became a monk when he found his guru, Ramakrishna. Vivekananda extensively toured the Indian subcontinent after the death of Ramakrishna, acquiring first-hand knowledge of the living conditions of Indian people in then-British India.

He resolved to help his countrymen and found a way to travel to the United States where he was highly successful, moved by their plight. Vivekananda founded the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission in India.

The Ramakrishna Math provides spiritual training for monastics and householder devotees. The Ramakrishna Mission provides charity, social work, and education. Contemporary Hindu reform movements were greatly influenced by Vivekananda, who also contributed to the development of nationalism in colonial India. He is regarded as a patriotic saint in India, and his birthday is celebrated as National Youth Day.

CM Yogi pays a Humble tribute to Swami Vivekananda, the great ascetic who restored the Sanatan culture and Indian spiritual tradition to the global horizon, the ideal of the youth, on his birth anniversary. He gave Best wishes to all the young friends on “National Youth Day”.
