PM Modi Receives Bhutan’s Highest Civilian Honor: Order of the Druk Gyalpo

In a historic ceremony held at the Tendrelthang in Thimphu, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of India was honored with the Order of the Druk Gyalpo, Bhutan’s most esteemed civilian award, by His Majesty the King of Bhutan. This distinguished recognition underscores the exceptional bond shared between India and Bhutan, as Prime Minister Modi becomes the inaugural foreign leader to be bestowed with this prestigious accolade.

The announcement of Prime Minister Modi’s conferment with the Order of the Druk Gyalpo was made during Bhutan’s 114th National Day celebrations held at the Tashichhodzong in Thimphu in December 2021.
