On the 29th of December, PM Modi is happy that the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (IndAus ECTA) has come into force today. “It is a watershed moment for our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” said Shri Modi.

About Australia–India relations:-
Australia and India share a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” due to their shared history as part of the British Empire. Both countries are members of the Commonwealth of Nations and share political, economic, security, lingual, and sporting ties.
Culture, arts, music, and commercial and international sports such as cricket, tennis, and badminton have emerged as strong cultural connections between the two nations, in addition to strong trade and migration. The regular joint naval exercise AUSINDEX is one example of military cooperation between Australia and India.
