PM Modi is aiming for a third consecutive win from Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi, where he has been the MP since 2014. The BJP is targeting a record margin of over 5 lakh votes for Modi, who has consistently performed well in the constituency. In 2014, he defeated AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal by over 4 lakh votes, and in 2019, he won against Samajwadi Party’s Shalini Yadav.
PM Modi’s Stronghold
PM Modi has a strong hold on Varanasi, having secured a staggering 63% vote share in 2019. However, this time around, he faces a tough challenge from Congress’s Ajay Rai, who has contested against Modi in the previous Lok Sabha polls. Rai, who is the Congress chief in UP, is determined to stop Modi’s winning streak.
