PM Modi to Inaugurate Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the Supreme Court

In a historic event, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is slated to inaugurate the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Supreme Court of India on January 28, 2024, at noon in the Supreme Court auditorium. The occasion will mark the seventy-fifth year of the esteemed institution.

As part of the celebration, the Prime Minister will launch citizen-centric information and technology initiatives aimed at enhancing accessibility and transparency in the judicial system. Among the notable launches are the Digital Supreme Court Reports (Digi SCR), Digital Courts 2.0, and the revamped website of the Supreme Court.

The Digital Supreme Court Reports (Digi SCR) is a groundbreaking initiative that will make Supreme Court judgments freely accessible to citizens in electronic format. Encompassing all 519 volumes since 1950, covering 36,308 cases, the digital SCR offers a user-friendly, bookmarked, and open-access platform for legal insights.

Digital Courts 2.0 is a recent addition to the e-Courts project, facilitating electronic access to court records for district court judges. Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), this initiative ensures real-time transcription of speech-to-text, streamlining judicial processes.

In addition to these technological milestones, the Prime Minister will unveil the new bilingual website of the Supreme Court. Redesigned for a user-friendly experience, the website will be available in both English and Hindi, catering to a wider audience.

The event holds significance not only in commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of the Supreme Court but also in ushering in technological advancements that align with the vision of a transparent and accessible judicial system. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address the gathering, emphasizing the importance of these initiatives in fostering a more efficient and inclusive legal framework.
