International Cricket Stadium: A Symbol of Sporting Excellence
The much-anticipated International Cricket Stadium, situated in Ganjari, Rajatalab, Varanasi, will span across a sprawling 30-acre area, with an estimated cost of approximately Rs 450 crores. What sets this stadium apart is its thematic architecture, inspired by the spiritual aura of Varanasi and Lord Shiva. The crescent-shaped roof covers, trident-shaped floodlights, ghat steps-based seating, and Bilvipatra-shaped metallic sheets on the facade will combine to create a truly unique and awe-inspiring sports arena. The stadium is designed to accommodate a capacity of 30,000 spectators, providing a world-class venue for cricket enthusiasts and athletes alike.
This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to promote sports and nurture talent across India. The International Cricket Stadium will serve as a hub for both local and international cricket events, fostering a love for sports and competition in the region.
Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya: Nurturing Young Minds
In a bid to further enhance access to quality education, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya schools built across Uttar Pradesh, with a total investment of approximately Rs 1115 crores. These residential schools are exclusively dedicated to the children of laborers, construction workers, and orphans who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The schools, each constructed on 10-15 acres of land, offer a holistic educational experience, including modern classrooms, sports grounds, recreational areas, mini auditoriums, hostel complexes, mess facilities, and residential flats for staff. With an eventual capacity of 1,000 students each, these schools symbolize the government’s commitment to providing quality education and fostering the holistic development of children.
Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023: Celebrating Cultural Richness
The Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023, a brainchild of Prime Minister Modi, has been a remarkable celebration of the cultural vibrancy of Varanasi. Over 37,000 participants from diverse backgrounds and age groups have showcased their skills in various disciplines such as singing, instrumental playing, nukkad natak (street plays), and dancing, making this event a true celebration of India’s cultural diversity.
The closing ceremony of the Mahotsav, to be held at the Rudraksha International Cooperation and Convention Centre, will provide a platform for the most talented participants to showcase their skills. This not only acknowledges their dedication but also promotes and preserves India’s rich cultural heritage.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Varanasi on September 23, 2023, underscores his unwavering commitment to the development of Varanasi and the welfare of its residents. The inauguration of the International Cricket Stadium, Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya schools, and the culmination of the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023 all reflect his vision for a more prosperous, culturally vibrant, and educationally empowered Varanasi.
