PM Modi Unveils Rs. 34,400 Crore Projects in Chhattisgarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to lead a transformative initiative in Chhattisgarh as he engages with the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Chhattisgarh’ program on February 24, 2024, through video conferencing. This landmark event will witness the inauguration, dedication, and laying of the foundation stone for multiple development projects, collectively valued at over Rs 34,400 crore, across various sectors crucial for the state’s growth trajectory.

A significant highlight of the program is the dedication of NTPC’s Lara Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-I (2×800 MW), and the laying of the foundation stone for Stage-II (2×800 MW) in Raigarh district. With an investment exceeding Rs 31,000 crore, and equipped with advanced technologies, these projects are poised to revolutionize power generation, ensuring efficiency and environmental sustainability while catering to the energy needs of Chhattisgarh and several other states and UTs.

In a bid to streamline coal evacuation processes and mitigate environmental impacts, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate three key First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects of South Eastern Coalfields Limited, along with the Solar PV Project at Rajnandgaon, collectively valued at over Rs 1,500 crore. These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to bolstering renewable energy production and modernizing coal evacuation infrastructure, fostering sustainable development and ecological preservation.

Further augmenting transportation and connectivity, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Bilaspur – Uslapur Flyover and rehabilitate crucial sections of NH-49 and NH-130, facilitating smoother intercity connectivity and stimulating economic growth in the region.

The ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Chhattisgarh’ program stands as a testament to the government’s unwavering dedication to propelling inclusive growth and development across the nation, with Chhattisgarh poised to emerge as a beacon of progress and prosperity under Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership.
