Assurance of Central Government Support
Modi has assured that the Central Government will provide all possible assistance in response to the landslide crisis. He has been in contact with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to coordinate relief efforts and support the state’s response to the disaster.
Financial Assistance Announced
The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia payment from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF): Rs. 2 lakhs for the next of kin of each deceased & Rs. 50,000 for those injured. This financial aid aims to provide immediate relief to the affected families.
Ongoing Rescue Operations
In his message posted on X, Modi highlighted that rescue operations are actively underway to help those impacted by the landslides. He reassured that the Central Government is fully committed to supporting the ongoing efforts and addressing the needs of the affected population.
