Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, will be delivering a post-budget webinar speech on February 25th, 2023, on the topic of ‘Harnessing youth power through Skilling and Education’. This webinar is part of a series of 12 post-budget webinars being organized by the Government of India to gather ideas and suggestions for the effective implementation of the initiatives announced in the Union Budget. The Union Budget adopts seven priorities that complement each other and act as the ‘Saptarishi’ guiding us through the Amrit Kaal. The Government has made Inclusive Development one of its priorities, which encompasses Education and Skilling.
The webinar will have six breakout sessions covering both the skilling and education sectors. Apart from Ministers and Secretaries of the concerned Ministries of the Central Government, a number of stakeholders from the Education and Skills Departments of the State Governments, industry representatives, students from schools and universities, teachers and faculty, education, and research institutions, skill development bodies, sector skill councils Bodies like ITI, FICCI, CII, NASSCOM, etc. will participate in these webinars and contribute by way of suggestions for better implementation of the Budget announcements.
The themes of the breakout sessions are PradhanMantriKaushalVikasYojna 4.0, Skill India Digital Platform, Skill India International Centres, National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, National Digital Library for Children and Adolescents, and Teacher’s Training. These sessions aim to focus on the initiatives taken by the Government for the skill development and education of the youth and to gather feedback and suggestions for their better implementation.
PradhanMantriKaushalVikasYojna 4.0 aims to provide industry-relevant skills to the youth, enabling them to get better job opportunities. Skill India Digital Platform provides online learning opportunities for skilling and upskilling. Skill India International Centres aim to provide international exposure to the youth and promote India as a hub of a skilled workforce.
The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme provides opportunities for on-the-job training for the youth. The National Digital Library for Children and Adolescents aims to provide access to digital resources for children and adolescents. Finally, Teacher’s Training focuses on enhancing the skills of teachers, enabling them to provide better education to the students.
The participation of stakeholders from various sectors and backgrounds is crucial for the success of these initiatives. The suggestions and feedback gathered through these webinars will help the Government to improve the implementation of these initiatives and ensure that they reach the youth who need them the most.
